He was dressed and ready to go.His mom was out on her daily run, so he got his own bowl of cereal andpoured milk on it, spilling only a little. Just to feel grown up (andbecause he liked the outside in the morning), he took his cereal outto the back porch. He spilled just a little more milk when the screendoor bumped him as it closed. Then a little more yet when he ploppeddown on the steps.For a few minutes he sat quietly slurping up the cereal with his specialspoon, dreaming of hitting a home run.

It was mostly quiet exceptfor noises he made, and a bird here and there. He liked it that way.And then it happened...
